Bar El Abuelo Camilo, typical canarian dishes on Fuerteventura
In the Bar El Abuelo Camilo, close to the small sandy beach (Playa Chicha) of Puerto del Rosario, you can order typical canarian food either Tapas or complete menus. And you also find the always popular crusty filled bread rolls, called Bocadillos, with meat, chicken, fish, tortilla or bacon, each one filled with fresh salad, tomatoes and onions, as well as a wide selection of desserts. Enjoy your meal or spanish coffee inside a nice typical canarian bar or outside on the new modern terrace with an awning.
Every Thursday morning, the typical spanish Churros are offered, either with or without the thick hot chocolate for dipping and drinking. For breakfast you can choose between toast, croissants and bread rolls, with butter, marmalade, or ham and cheese, together with a cup of tea, coffee or fresh orange juice. New and already very popular are the fresh fruit cocktails. You can choose between a great variety of fruit in different combinations.
For lunch you can choose from a varied menu, with starters, main courses and desserts or coffee or if you wish, a selection of tapas, as it is usual in Spain, especially when you come with some friends. Some of the most popular tapas on Fuerteventura are the Ensaladilla Rusa (a potatoe salad), Papas Arrugadas with Mojo (Potatoes with a garlic sauce), Albondigas with sauce (mince balls), Pulpo a la vinegretta (squid salad), Croquetas de pescado (fish croquettes) and Carne de cabra en salsa (Goats meat in a sauce). The goats meat is always delivered fresh from local farms of Fuerteventura.
